Only remarks about the form and not the substance:
I didn’t really receive an answer about why the traditional group_size value has the same value as the number of elders in charge of a section (see this post in the other forum):
Even if Maidsafe estimates now that these 2 values are the same, tests may reveal later that security must be emphasized more on replication factor or on contrary more on the number of elders. Having the possibility to change their value independently would allow testing different hypothesis. Also, even if the values are the same, having a proper name for entities helps for a more readable code.
For example, using 2 parameters like “replication_factor” and “council_of_elders_size” would be more maintainable and clearer than using unique parameter “group_size” (these terms are only propositions to illustrate what I mean).
Again, about terminology clarity: Block is too vague and doesn’t convey any meaning. I propose something like “BallotBox”, “ElectionResults” or “PollResults”? This is exactly this: a set of votes about one event.
In conclusion I would say that using a better terminology would help for a more understandable specification and later for a more maintainable code.
